Meeting with our Senators, Congressmen and their staff is one way we’re able to raise awareness and further the goals of our industry.
We appreciated the opportunity to make our collective voices heard as well as being able to share how real estate investors are improving neighborhoods, one home at a time.
It may take some time for our issues to take root, but with patience, pruning and nurture we will see the fruit of our labors.
The effort was coordinated by the National Real Estate Investors Association in conjunction with the National Apartments Association’s Capitol Conference.
Specific to Illinois, members met with Congressman John Shimkus, as well as key staff members from Congressmen Rodney Davis, Mike Best and Senators Tammy Duckworth and Richard Durbin. Issues raised included reauthorization/reform of the National Flood Insurance Program and various infrastructure issues related to housing & development.
The ILREIA has meeting locations in several cities across the southern two-thirds of Illinois as well as the eastern side of St. Louis. For more information about the Illinois Real Estate Investors Association please visit their website at www.ILREIA.com
